After 2 years, here comes the new opus, bigger than usual (240x240mm, 210 pages), hardbound and more provocative than ever,a collection of pictures by the Chinese photographer Bing Nv / Sick Girl depicting the underground and alternative lifestyle of the young generation, but this 8th publication of Bing Nv is done under an unlucky star.

It was a hard choice for me to decide if I should sell this book or not.
As a fan of the artist, and a supporter of the freedom of speech, I think it’s a good decision to offer it for sale. Why hesitating? 2021 : Few months ago, the photographer published on social networks that if we got no more news soon, she may be in jail. The artist was sentenced to jail and we got no news at all for now.*
As many artist playing with the borders of the law, like Araki, Nan Goldin and many others, the jail is a reminder of the limits of what a society can accept, but also a demonstration of how the look over our society can change with time.
Not judging the governments, just the same note cannot be play on all the instruments nowadays.
The pressure of local limitation was overcome, but the regulation was defied.
The artist was arrested for something that is not a crime all over the world, but is regulated under strict laws.
The book was labelled as pornographic, which is strictly forbidden to publish, promote and sell in People’s Republic in China.
She was a confidante and close friend to talk with when things went wrong for many of her fans. Her numerous supporters liked to share with her about their lives, their stories and the misfit feeling in their own existence.
The book ends with several pages filled with screenshots of stories, testimonies and support messages.
